God of War is an action-adventure game developed by Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The developers released the Game worldwide on April 20, 2018 for the PlayStation 4. They are planning to release a Microsoft Windows version on January 14, 2022. The game is the eighth installment in the God of War series and the sequel to 2010’s God of War III.
God of War is a third-person action-adventure video game. It features an over-the-shoulder free camera, a departure from the previous installments, which featured a fixed cinematic camera. Cinematographically, the game presents in a continuous shot, with no camera cuts or loading screens. Although the previous main installment, Ascension, introduced multiplayer to the series, this installment is single-player-only. Regarding the level structure, director Cory Barlog said “it’s open, but it is not an open world.” Due to its openness, a fast travel feature will unlock later in the game. Jumping option is only available at designated areas, such as at a rock face or ledge. Throughout the game, players battle Norse mythological foes, like dark elves, wulvers, and draugrs. Valkyries appear as optional boss battles.
God of War, which originally launched on PS4 in 2018, will benefit from improvements in processing power since then, enabling an unlocked frame rate and native 4K rendering. Those with Nvidia GPUs will also benefit from the company’s DLSS feature, letting you get higher frame rates without a noticeable impact on image quality. You can check out the game running fluidly at a higher frame rate below.
God of War on PC will also launch with some DLC from the start, giving you access to some special gear for Kratos. As a result, Developers included:
- ⚫Death’s Vow Armor Sets for Kratos and Atreus
